Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to oversee daily operations of our bar and lounge. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food and beverage service, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves supervising staff, managing inventory, ensuring food safety standards, and creating a welcoming environment for guests. Previous restaurant management or hospitality experience is highly valued, along with familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS. The Bar Manager will play a key role in maintaining high standards of service, safety, and efficiency within our establishment.
Duties
- Lead and supervise bar staff, including interviewing, training, and scheduling team members to ensure smooth operations
- Oversee food preparation and food handling procedures to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
- Manage the entire bar operation, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper food safety practices
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems like Micros POS and perform cash handling duties
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Supervise food service activities such as serving drinks, managing reservations, and coordinating with kitchen staff for food orders
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in accordance with health standards
- Develop staff schedules, monitor performance, and provide leadership to foster a positive team environment
- Assist in creating promotional events or specials to enhance customer engagement
- Ensure compliance with all relevant alcohol laws and licensing regulations
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting, preferably within a bar or similar environment
- Extensive background in food industry roles such as restaurant management, food service, or kitchen experience
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms for cash handling and order processing
- Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and interviewing prospective staff
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage guest relations effectively
- Previous hotel or barista experience is considered a plus but not required
- Demonstrated ability to handle food safely while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
