JOB SUMMARY:
The Rosebowl Supportive HousingTeam Lead assists staff and managers in the delivery of program service. The Team Lead reports to the CR Housing and Program Manager and the Management Team.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
As well as carrying out the duties of the Housing Support Worker, the Team Lead is accountable for contributing to the successful and efficient operations by:
- Providing support to the team in the delivery of tenancy support and program services;
- Providing operational and administrative assistance to the CR Housing and Program Manager;
- Implementing and overseeing the daily, weekly and monthly building programming needs, including ordering supplies,
- Scheduling and shift coverage, including callouts;
- Coordinates and facilitates community support for tenants;
- Acts as the primary point of contact for tenant issues and follows up as needed;
- Ensures all team members are familiar with and adhere to VIMHS’s policies and procedures, providing coaching or support as required.
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to multi task and work in a range of settings;
- Strong knowledge of community services and supports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Experience with and knowledge of vulnerable populations, including persons experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders and mental illness;
- Demonstrated leadership ability;
- Physical and mental ability to perform the duties of the position;
- Knowledge and experience working in a union environment
EDUCATION and QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum three (3) years related experience in supervisory position;
- Degree or Diploma in social services or related field, or equivalent education and experience;
- Demonstrated leadership skills and supervisory ability
- Experience with populations impacted by homelessness, substance use, and mental health issues and/or barriers to stable housing
- Physical and mental ability to perform the duties of the position
- High degree of empathy and professional boundaries
- Criminal Record Check for working with Vulnerable People
- Valid First Aid with CPR-C
- Food Safe Certificate
- Valid BC Driver’s License
- Crisis intervention training (NVCI; Managing Hostile Interaction)
DURATION: Until Return on Incumbent
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34.46-$36.27 per hour
