Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight and equipment, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the vehicle in excellent condition. This role requires a professional with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service. The Driver will operate various types of vehicles, including those requiring heavy equipment operation and forklift handling, to support our logistical needs.
Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight and equipment to designated locations
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Assist with the loading and securing of freight to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation activities
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience operating forklifts, heavy equipment, or other industrial machinery is preferred
- Knowledge of freight handling and securement procedures
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting is a plus
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving and heavy equipment operation
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks as required
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize deliveries efficiently
- Prior experience in freight transportation or logistics is desirable
