About the Position:
Reporting to the store manager, the Lead Cashier will be responsible for processing daily customer transactions while maintaining a high level of customer service. The Lead Cashier will be responsible for the supervision of a team of cashiers. In addition, this role will also be responsible for ongoing training, monitoring, and assistance with operational issues pertaining to the cashiers.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive work environment for team.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for all cashiers.
- Train all new cashiers and perform performance reviews.
- Communicate new implementations, price changes, and product knowledge to team.
- Approve all exchanges and returns.
- Respond and assist to team’s inquiries and concerns.
- Cash till Management and Reconciliations on a daily basis.
- Respond to customer concerns/complaints and refer to management when necessary.
- Ensure all tills have adequate cash and change.
- Investigate and resolve cash/credit discrepancies or misapplied cash/credit transactions.

Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a Lead Cashier role in the retail industry
- Strong conflict resolution skills in order to handle customer complaints
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Able to provide ongoing training and manage staff
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
Working Conditions
- Ability to attend customer related inquires and concerns
- Provide ongoing training to team
- Overtime as required.
- Lifting or moving up to 25lbs may be required
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
