Roles and Responsibilities
As an Integrated Security Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of physical security systems. You will work closely with our clients to ensure their security needs are met efficiently and effectively.
- Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain a variety of physical security systems, including access control systems, surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and intercoms.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues in security systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Client Interaction: Build and maintain positive client relationships, providing clear and professional communication regarding system functionality, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Quality Control: Conduct routine quality checks on security installations and maintenance to ensure all systems meet industry standards and client requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all service and maintenance activities, including service reports, equipment inventory, and system configurations.
- Training: Provide training and guidance to clients and end-users on the proper operation and maintenance of security systems.
- Security Assessment: Collaborate with the security team to assess clients' security needs, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend appropriate security solutions.
- Emergency Response: Be available for on-call duty and respond promptly to security system emergencies or alarms outside of regular working hours.
Skill Set
- Ability to read and interpret, manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints or other related documents.
- Technical education or certification in electronic security systems is a plus.
- Proven experience in the installation and maintenance of physical security systems.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting security hardware and software.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Knowledge of MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Possess the willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Self-motivated, positive, and professional attitude.
Required Experience
- 3 – 5 Years Commercial installation or service experience, in a relevant industry
- Working knowledge of building systems and construction methods.
Additional Requirements
- Possess a valid class 5 operator’s license.
- Ability to work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs as required.
- Travel and some out-of-town work will be required.
- Opportunities for long term out of town work
