The District of Houston has a career opportunity for an experienced leader to take on the permanent full-time role of Chief Administrative Officer.

The CAO will be a visionary, strategic thinker with top level communication skills and sound politicaljudgement. They are a tactful negotiator that is able to always represent the District’s interests with integrity. The CAO is a venerable generalist that is capable at navigating complex technical issues and translating knowledge in a manner that supports informed decision making by Council and staff.
The role will involve:
- Working closely with Mayor and Council, as their one employee, providing sensible advice and solid support;
- Managing the evolving day-to-day affairs of the community;
- Coordinating and directing the administrative organization of the District;
- Utilizing excellent human resources and labour relations skills; and,
- Fostering trust between all departments and with the community at large.
The CAO role offers a competitive salary range from $129,200 - $151,200, a comprehensive benefits package, and enrollment in the Municipal Pension Plan.
