Responsibilities
- Operate heavy-duty long haul trucks with precision and adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload cargo, often requiring heavy lifting to secure goods properly in the truck
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and readiness
- Plan efficient routes to optimize delivery times and fuel consumption
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and delivery documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve issues promptly
- Follow all safety protocols during driving, loading, unloading, and vehicle maintenance activities
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in driving large trucks or commercial vehicles
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety standards, and route planning techniques
- Excellent physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and manual handling tasks
- Good communication skills for clear interactions with team members and clients
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
