Overview:
Career1 is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Purchaser for one of our reputable clients in the Barrie area. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity within a fast-paced manufacturing/distribution environment. We are looking for someone with excellent negotiation, organizational, and vendor management skills to join the team.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure purchase orders are accurate with respect to pricing, delivery timelines, quantities, and additional charges (e.g., freight).
- Track and follow up on open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve discrepancies related to pricing, quantities, or delivery issues.
- Maintain updated records for receiving appointments, pricing contracts, and purchasing data.
- Place orders as per internal demand and sales requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate procurement as needed.
- Develop, send, and manage RFQs for select product categories.
- Research potential suppliers and evaluate offers to negotiate cost-effective deals.
- Maintain and update internal databases with accurate procurement information.
- Lead inventory-related functions and support warehouse coordination.
- Handle vendor claims and follow up on delayed shipments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years previous purchasing/procurement experience in a manufacturing or supply chain setting is a must.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple vendors and track deliveries efficiently.
- Proficiency with procurement systems or ERP software is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Full-time position
- Monday to Friday schedule (Onsite Required/ No Hybrid Option)
- Salary Range: $60,000 – $90,000 per year, based on experience
- Benefits available after probation
