We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to join our team. This position is responsible for leading field operations from project startup through completion while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and client satisfaction objectives are achieved.
Position Summary
The Site Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day management of all on-site construction activities. Working closely with the Project Manager, trades, consultants, and owners, the Superintendent will lead site operations, coordinate subcontractors, maintain project schedules, and ensure all work is completed safely and to the highest standard of quality.
This role requires a proactive leader who can effectively manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining a productive, organized, and professional work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Site Management
- Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
- Maintain a safe, productive, and professional jobsite.
- Foster strong working relationships with clients, consultants, trades, and project stakeholders.
- Mentor Assistant Superintendents and field staff.
Schedule & Planning
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and maintain project schedules.
- Conduct look-ahead planning and coordinate upcoming work with trades.
- Identify potential schedule impacts and implement recovery plans when required.
- Ensure manpower, materials, equipment, and resources are effectively coordinated.
Quality Control
- Implement and maintain project-specific QA/QC programs.
- Ensure construction activities comply with contract documents, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Conduct regular inspections and deficiency reviews.
- Drive quality workmanship and first-time-right construction practices.
Safety
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture on site.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, OH&S legislation, and project-specific requirements.
- Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and incident investigations as required.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting.
Documentation & Reporting
- Complete and submit required project documentation including:
- Daily Reports
- Safety Documentation
- Site Photographs
- Deficiency Tracking
- Incident Reports
- Inspection Records
- Maintain accurate project records using company software platforms.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Site Superintendent in commercial, industrial, institutional, or multifamily construction.
- Proven experience managing projects valued up to $30 million or greater.
- Strong understanding of site development, foundations, structural systems, building envelope, and interior construction.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
- Strong working knowledge of construction scheduling and sequencing.
- Experience leading trade coordination and site meetings.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract.
- Journeyman Carpenter, Red Seal Certification, Gold Seal Certification, or equivalent construction experience is considered an asset.
Technology & Software
Experience with the following is considered an asset:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Microsoft Project
- Bluebeam Revu
- Procore or similar construction management software

Work Location
Projects are located throughout Calgary and surrounding areas, with occasional out-of-town assignments as required.
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
