Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical or dental office settings, possess strong administrative skills, and be proficient with electronic medical records. This role involves providing exceptional front desk support, managing patient interactions, and ensuring smooth office operations. Candidates with experience using Epic, Dentrix, and other office management systems will be highly valued. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages
- Maintain and update electronic medical records using systems
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with billing procedures
- Prepare patient charts and documentation for appointments
- Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and appointment confirmations
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming
- Support clinical staff with administrative duties as needed
- Handle patient check-in/check-out processes efficiently and accurately
Skills
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Epic and Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology and Dental Terminology
- Experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a Dental Office setting preferred
- Prior Medical Office or Dental Office Experience required
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multi-line phone systems effectively
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and staff
- Familiarity with office equipment and administrative procedures
- Ability to handle fast-paced environments while maintaining professionalism
