Status: Full-Time
Wage: $27.53 per hour (Grid 10, Step 1)
Location: Connections Childcare Centre, 5999 Blanshard Dr, Richmond, BC V7C 5V4, and approved community-based program sites
Hours: Full-time hours scheduled according to operational needs, between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday

Connections Community Services Society (CCSS) is a community-based non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening individuals, families, and communities through inclusive, responsive, and culturally respectful services.
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educators to join our Connections Kids Club (CKC) team. This posting will fill a current full-time vacancy and establish a qualified ECE Talent Pool for future full-time, part-time, and casual opportunities. POSITION SUMMARY
The Early Childhood Educator (ECE) is responsible for delivering high-quality care and educational programming for children under the age of six in a licensed childcare setting, including infants, toddlers, and children with extra support needs. The ECE nurtures children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development by creating engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate experiences in a safe and welcoming environment aligned with the BC Early Learning Framework.
This role exists so that every child in the Connections Kids Club receives play-based, culturally safe, responsive care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum Planning & Delivery
- Design and implement daily programs that reflect children’s interests, developmental levels, and cultural backgrounds.
- Create a balanced schedule with active/quiet, indoor/outdoor, and individual/group experiences using play-based learning and responsive strategies.
Individualized Support & Development Tracking
- Observe children to identify interests, abilities, and needs, and adapt to programming accordingly.
- Collaborate with families and professionals (e.g., therapists, supported child development consultants) to support each child.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of children’s progress, attendance, incidents, and health information in compliance with the Child Care Licensing Regulation.
Health, Safety & Caregiving
- Ensure the physical safety, emotional well-being, and dignity of every child during all program hours.
- Attend children’s physical needs, promote health and hygiene routines, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Report on all health, safety, and licensing matters as required by the local licensing authority (e.g., Vancouver Coastal Health Community Care Facility Licensing).
Family Communication
- Serve as a primary contact for families, building trust-based partnerships through daily updates, scheduled meetings, and collaborative goal settings.
Team Collaboration & Mentorship
- Participate in team planning, staff meetings, and program evaluation, and recommend improvements to programming and routines.
- Provide work direction to ECE Assistants, practicum students, and volunteers as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate and active ECE License to Practice with the BC ECE Registry, in good standing at all times.
- Minimum 500 hours of verified work experience in a licensed childcare setting with children under the age of six; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Successful Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certification (Level C preferred); in-person certification is required.
- Proof of immunization compliance and tuberculosis clearance as required by the BC Child Care Licensing Regulation.
- Food Safe Level 1 Certificate.
- Proof of legal status to work in Canada.
ASSETS
- Valid Infant Toddler and/or Special Needs (Inclusive Practices) Certificate.
- Fluency in a second language, such as Mandarin or Cantonese, is considered an asset.
- Experience supporting children with complex developmental, behavioral, or medical needs.
- Multilingual abilities and multicultural competence are significant assets.
