Position Overview
Are you an ambitious, highly engaged professional looking to grow your career in a fast-paced and supportive environment? We are seeking an Industrial Hygiene Technician to join our team.
The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, adaptable, personable, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively. You have strong research and problem-solving skills, communicate professionally, and are comfortable coordinating travel, working with clients, and managing projects in the field.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage occupational hygiene projects from planning, through completion
· Conduct field surveys including noise, silica, dust, welding fume, and exposure assessments
· Ability to travel in Western Canada to clients’ sites (up to 1 week per month).
· Develop sampling strategies, interpret laboratory results, and communicate findings to clients
· Prepare technical reports, exposure control plans, and other project documentation
· Build and maintain strong client relationships
· Collaborate with engineers, safety professionals, site management, and other hygienists to develop practical solutions
· Coordinate project logistics, travel arrangements, and site access requirements
· Ensure project deliverables meet client expectations and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
· 1–3 years of experience in industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety, or a related role
· Strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations and industry standards
· Excellent report writing, critical thinking, and communication skills
· Experience working in industrial environments such as manufacturing facilities, construction sites, mines, or heavy industry
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Valid driver's license, clean driver's abstract, and ability to travel for project work
· Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Occupational Hygiene, or related field (preferred)
· ROHT, ROH, CIH, CRSP, CSP, or similar designation (preferred)
