Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Project Material Coordinator is to help ensure the day-to-day operations of the project yard run efficiently while complying with all company safety policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Receiving shipments;
- Unloading trucks;
- Organizing inventory and monitoring inventory levels to ensure materials are readily available for project needs.
- Signing out material;
- Moving vehicles;
- Maintaining cleanliness of the yard;
- Processing paperwork as required;
- Adhering to company rules, policies, procedures and safe work practices; and,
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills
- Class 5 drivers licence is required, Class 3 would be considered an asset;
- Prior experience in materials coordinator or a similar role is preferred;
- Forklift ticket would be considered an asset;
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in order to meet deadlines;
- Ability to apply effective analytical/problem-solving skills to resolve any material shortages, delays or discrepancies; and,
- Knowledge and experience in the electrical/construction industry would be considered a strong asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Regular travel to project sites, sometimes in remote areas for extended shift schedules as required;
- Work is performed partly outside in all weather conditions;
- Driving sometimes for long periods of time; and,
- Loading and unloading materials up to 65lbs.
