Position Summary:
The Community Engagement Coordinator is a strategic and innovative role that collaborates with a wide range of internal and external CRPCN stakeholders and partners to support the achievement of organizational goals and objectives. The Coordinator plays a key role in building and strengthening relationships and partnerships, while identifying and leveraging opportunities to expand awareness and reach of CRPCN programs and services.
This position is responsible for fostering strategic partnerships with community organizations and members, maintaining ongoing communication with stakeholders to support meaningful community engagement, and working closely with providers, patients, and communities to strengthen collaboration and connection across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a navigator and connector between CRPCN, community services, and partner organizations by facilitating awareness of available resources, strengthening referral pathways, and supporting coordinated access to programs and services for patients, providers, and communities.
- Conduct environmental scans, asset mapping, and community profiling to identify available services, community strengths and needs, and local priorities to inform engagement strategies and initiatives.
- Lead the design, planning, coordination, and delivery of community engagement events and initiatives that provide value to stakeholders while increasing public awareness, access, and understanding of CRPCN programs and services.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners, organizations, providers, and interdisciplinary health team members.
- Represent CRPCN at community events, interagency meetings, forums, and community fairs to promote programs and services and identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
- Support the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of health initiatives and projects in collaboration with community partners.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for community partner inquiries and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Advocate for and promote CRPCN programs, services, and health initiatives within the community and across partner organizations.
- Develop, maintain, and coordinate the annual CRPCN community engagement calendar, including planning, logistics, evaluation, and reporting.
- Identify emerging community opportunities, trends, and challenges and recommend appropriate engagement and partnership approaches.
- Identify and leverage opportunities to strengthen awareness and visibility of the CRPCN brand, programs, and services within the community.
- Create and support opportunities for meaningful patient partnership and participation to help inform and guide CRPCN programs and services.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on community engagement activities, outcomes, and key performance indicators to support continuous improvement.
- Participate in team meetings and provide regular updates, status reports, and other administrative support as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency in building collaborative partnerships with diverse stakeholders and community organizations
Educational Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree in a social sciences, health, community development or communications-related field
- Master’s degree is preferred
- A combination of education and experience will be considered.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Experience with stakeholder engagement and working with communities and patient partners
- Previous community engagement experience (particularly in the Foothills Region)
- Graphic design and media experience is a strong asset
- Research, evaluation and project management experience is an asset
Working Conditions:
- Home office environment
- Working under minimal daily supervision
- Travel to additional CRPCN work sites and CRPCN catchment will be required
- Valid driver’s license & access to reliable vehicle required

About the Calgary Rural Primary Care Network (CRPCN):
The Calgary Rural PCN collaborates with communities, family doctors and other health team members to do whatever we can to help you be as healthy as possible. We are working together to change the delivery of health care in our communities from reactive to preventative by providing services to patients that fit their needs through support we have in our member clinics, such as nurses, dietitians, and other health care professionals. We collaborate to provide tools and education to empower patients to work on their everyday health needs.
