Timberscapes Inc. is hiring an experienced arborist who can safely run a crew, deliver quality work, and develop others.
Compensation: $35–$45/hour
About the Role
This is a working field-leadership role. It is not simply about being a strong climber; it is about leading the crew well, protecting safety, driving quality and efficiency, developing others, and representing Timberscapes professionally.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily arborist crews from preparation through completion
- Perform advanced climbing, rigging, pruning, and removal work
- Conduct morning meetings and hazard reviews
- Delegate work according to crew capability
- Maintain safety, quality, production, and customer-service standards
- Keep jobs moving on schedule and within budgeted hours
- Train and develop apprentices using the Timberscapes career path
- Complete timekeeping, work orders, checklists, tailboards, and closeout documentation
- Maintain trucks, equipment, tools, and materials
- Communicate issues, damage, return trips, and customer concerns promptly
- Represent Timberscapes professionally on every job
Qualifications
- Completed arborist apprenticeship or equivalent experience
- Certified Arborist designation or demonstrated equivalent competency
- Proven ability to lead an arborist crew independently
- Strong climbing, rigging, pruning, and removal skills
- Aerial rescue and advanced rigging competency
- DZ or AZ licence strongly preferred
- ISA certification, Ontario Certified Arborist credentials, grapple-saw crane, bucket-truck, and spider lift experience are strong assets
- A valid Ontario driver’s licence is mandatory
Wage Placement
Higher placement may reflect Certified Arborist status, Ontario certification, DZ/AZ licensing, advanced rigging, spider lift or grapple-saw crane experience, and the ability to train and lead others consistently.

Job Type
Full-time | Permanent | Seasonal
This is a permanent position with a typical 2–3 month winter layoff (January to March), with work resuming each spring.
