Summary
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized manufacturing environment. This position performs routine cleaning and sanitation duties throughout production areas and common shared space while following company safety policies and housekeeping standards.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain production floors using industrial cleaning equipment.
- Cleaning and maintaining industrial drains, removing debris and buildup, and performing general housekeeping tasks in production, warehouse, and common areas.
- Empty waste and recycling containers and dispose of materials appropriately.
- Clean and sanitize washrooms, refill soap dispensers, paper towels, and other supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness in employee break areas and common spaces.
- Clean windows, doors, walls, and other building surfaces as required.
- Operate janitorial equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and pressure washers.
- Follow cleaning schedules and company sanitation procedures.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when replenishment is required.
- Adhere to Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) requirements and safe handling procedures for cleaning chemicals.
- Support workplace housekeeping initiatives, including 5S and GMP practices where applicable.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and facility issues to management.
- Assist with special cleaning projects and other duties as assigned.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
- 1–2 years of janitorial, custodial, or industrial cleaning experience preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
- Understanding of WHMIS and workplace safety practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.

1. Monday to Friday - 6:00am - 2:00pm
2. Monday to Friday - 2:00pm - 10:00pm
