Di Maio Architect Inc. is looking for an Intern Architect / Architectural Technologist with min. 5 years professional experience to join our growing and dynamic firm.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, resourceful, and adept at participating in the various roles and responsibilities within an architectural practice that are required to deliver projects from initial concept through construction documents and contract admin.
We are looking for someone who is passionate and enthusiastic about design and thoughtful detailing, and interested in participating in an open and collaborative work environment. Candidates will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in AutoCAD, and have solid technical experience.
Responsibilities
- Project lead from conception to completion under the principal in charge.
- Meet with clients and engage in project meetings.
- Manage project documentation from design to construction documents.
- Oversee approvals process by preparing, coordinating and submitting applications to authorities having jurisdiction.
- Oversee and coordinate consultants.
- Undertake contract administration, field and office duties.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years relevant professional experience.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Suite and Sketch-up.
- Leadership skills to work directly with clients and consultants as the project lead.
- Strong organization skills and ability to meet deadlines by prioritizing workload.
- Experience and fluency with OBC.
- Advanced knowledge of construction, detailing and specifications.
- Experience with approvals process including zoning requirements, site plan approval and building permit process.
- Understanding of contract types.
Compensation will commensurate with your experience, and upon completing your standard 3-month probationary period, you will be eligible for group benefits (life insurance, extended health, dental).
