The Schizophrenia Society of Saskatchewan Inc. is looking for a person to facilitate the delivery of a public informational program to the Northern Rural Saskatchewan area in person and/or virtually. The successful applicant will be able to develop a good working relationship with people with schizophrenia and other mental illness, family members, volunteers, and mental health advocates. Networking with a variety of educational institutions and community agencies is required. Working knowledge of mental illness and the mental health system is essential.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Recruiting, Co-ordinating & training Volunteers
- Advertising
- Media Involvement
- Researching Informational Material
- Gathering Statistics
- Measuring Program Outcomes
- Program Evaluations
- Providing Written Reports
- Committee and working group involvement
- Facilitating Presentations
The knowledge and abilities for this position would come from completion of a BA in Psychology, RPN/RN, or completion of a BSW. A combination of education and equivalent relevant job experience will also be considered. The applicant will require excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A demonstrated proficiency in use of computer and software applications will be required. Public speaking skills are a benefit.
To be successful in this position the applicant must be a team player and able to work independently; be adaptable and flexible; will have a participative style in leading, coaching and motivating; be results oriented; energetic and a self starter. Must be available for occasional evening and weekend work. Must have a vehicle and a valid drivers license. Some travel within the province will be required. Company vehicle will be provided.
The successful candidate will be subject to a Criminal Record Check clearance.
This is a Half time position.
