QMS & Quality Manager
The QMS & Quality Manager is responsible for managing the QMS system and Quality Engineering team encompassing diverse responsibilities including:
Managing a team to meet Company KPIs, diverse quality requirements and responsibilities including customer facing interaction, Root Cause Corrective Action responsible for managing manufacturing and customer quality related issues, FAI reporting, Source Inspection, Environmental Compliance, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) to meet regulatory, customer, internal and AS9100 requirements. This role involves scheduling and performing internal audits for QMS compliance, and foundational support for external QMS compliance audits, with some international travel required.
What does a QMS & Quality Manager do?
- Quality Management Systems
- Implement and Manage Quality Management Systems (QMS) for AS9100 certification
- Development and management of policies, procedures, work instructions, and exhibits for the QMS
- Manage, schedule, and perform internal audits, document finding, and presenting the results to various stakeholders. Perform training, implementation and verification as required
o Provide technical support to production while performing quality audits
o Preparation, scheduling, and support for 3rd party and customer auditors
o Support review of Operational and Business risk assessments and corresponding
improvements
o Support Part & Process Qualification/Verification/Validation
o Understand Aerospace and Industry Specifications
- Manage and perform failure analysis with RCCA investigation and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Review root cause corrective action to ensure adequacy and manage all aspects of customer quality complaints.
- Ensure timely and thorough completion of corrective action reports and follow up on customer responses
o Manage scheduling and preparation of AS9102 compliant First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
o Manage and oversee Material and Environmental compliance activities, including RoHS, REACH, conflict minerals, PFAS, etc.
o Analyze quality data and costs. Compile reports reflecting quality performance
o Identify and manage cost reduction and quality improvement projects
o Lead QMS activities, and developing QMS team for robust cross functional internal auditing team
o Lead quality engineering activities (application of fundamental statistical methods for process control).
o Lead individual cross-functional team projects and provide progress reports
o Train project team members in basic quality concepts and techniques as required
What you bring to the table?
- A Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering or equivalent
- Certified Quality Engineer or equivalent combination of training and experience, preferably in an aerospace or electronics manufacturing/assembly environment
- A minimum of three years of experience with comprehensive Quality Engineering experience and Quality Management Systems experience - preferably with AS9100
- ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Lead Auditor certification and experience
- Ability to assess quality performance and corrective action by analyzing data collected from audit performed and witnessing operations as required
- Must be knowledgeable in risk assessment and process capability
- Experience with part and process evaluation and qualification (APQP/PPAP) would be an asset
- Problem solving and quality improvement skills (IE, FMEA, 8D and DOE)
- Testing and failure analysis experience an asset
- Measurement and/or inspection experience
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt an asset
- Excellent analytical, strong verbal and written communication skills
The base salary range for this position is $85,000 – $110,000 annually. In determining the rate of pay, Amphenol considers a variety of nondiscriminatory factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant industry experience, qualifications, skills, and education. It would be rare for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a given role. Base salary is one facet of Amphenol’s total rewards package which includes participation in our comprehensive benefits program with medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, paid holidays, life insurance, short/long term disability, and membership in our Defined Contribution Pension Plan. Our employees are also eligible for participation in an annual incentive bonus program based on their position.
