As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Tractor Driver who will be responsible for picking up and delivering freight/loads in a timely, safe and secure manner, as well as Shunting trailers between our main and satellite yards. This role reports to the Operations Manager. The incumbent takes charge of the entire loading/delivering/completing paperwork process to ensure all orders are complete and meet appointment times; physical labour is required at times.
Responsibilities:
§ Loading the outbound truck if needed
Shunting trailers between our main and satellite yards
§ Maintains process management and paperwork
§ Use ELD
§ Get the customer's signature on a tablet app at the time of pickup and delivery
§ Ensures compliance with all appropriate policies, best practices and safety rules
§ Willing to work occasional extended hours as required and able to handle up to 80-pound boxes
§ Other duties as required
Qualifications & Key Competencies:
§ Class 1 Driver's Licence
§ Experience in a similar role for 2 years is desirable
§ Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
§ Good analytical and mathematical skills
§ Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
§ Ability to meet urgent deadlines
§ Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
Hours and Location:
§ Monday to Friday: 03:00 - 12:30
§ Terminal Location: Delta, BC
Remuneration:
$29.00 - $31.00 per hour based on experience
