Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician, eyewear consultant or Optometric Assistant to join our team. We are a multi-doctor practice that provides family eye care to patients of all ages. We are located in a healthcare building across the hospital consisting of all medical specialities. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support within our optometry practice. This position involves assisting with various tasks related to patient management, optical sales, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in processes.
- Collect and record patient medical history, pretest patients, collect payment and bill extended insurance plans.
- Manage the optical dispensary, including fitting and adjusting eyewear.
- Provide information about lens options, frame styles, and other optical products to enhance retail sales.
- Maintain inventory levels of optical products.
- Utilize electronic health record system such as Optosys for patient documentation.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and the optical area.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues related to services or products.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an optometric setting is preferred.
- Experience in retail sales or optical management.
- Experience preferred for billing MSP and extended insurance plans through Telus portal, blue cross, sunlife etc.
- Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Extrovert, friendly personality, ability to work independently.
- Experience with social media outlets for marketing is preferred.
- Hardworking, committed, punctuality is essential.

Pay: $17.85-$25.00 per hour
