Vacuum Truck Operator (Casual On-Call / Permanent Position)
Low Profile Industrial is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Vacuum Truck Operator. This is a casual on-call permanent position that is ideal for someone who enjoys a flexible work schedule and can respond to service requests as needed.
Our company specializes in the cleaning of catch basins, sumps, and sewer/storm lines using specialized vacuum truck equipment. The successful candidate will operate a small single-axle vacuum truck while learning all aspects of our business and services.
Position Overview
This position does not involve regular scheduled hours. Work is primarily generated through customer service requests and emergency response calls. When service requests are received, operators are contacted and dispatched as required. While some projects are scheduled in advance, much of our work is performed on an as-needed basis.
Please do not apply if you require a consistent or guaranteed work schedule. This role is best suited for individuals who are flexible, available on short notice, and comfortable working in a responsive service environment.
Compensation
- $30.00 – $35.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate vacuum truck equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with company and customer requirements.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance services for catch basins, sumps, and drainage systems.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and complete all required vehicle documentation.
- Complete daily field tickets, logbooks, hazard assessments, and other operational paperwork accurately.
- Maintain equipment in accordance with company policies and manufacturer guidelines.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers and the public.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
- Clean Driver's Abstract (please submit with your resume if available).
- Previous vacuum truck or related equipment operation experience is considered an asset but is not required.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and respond to changing schedules and job requirements.
- Good physical condition with the ability to perform manual labour and heavy lifting.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
