Ontario Asphalt Supply Limited is searching for AZ-Class Drivers
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate AZ-class vehicles including dump trucks, live bottom trailers, and float trucks in road construction environments
- Transport asphalt, aggregates, and construction materials to and from job sites, plants, and staging areas
- Coordinate with paving crews, plant operators, and site supervisors to ensure efficient material delivery during live paving operations
- Perform proper loading/unloading procedures, including tarping, spreading, and dumping in accordance with site requirements
- Maintain tight delivery schedules while adapting to changing site conditions and production demands
- Complete daily logs, delivery tickets, inspection reports, and other required documentation accurately
- Conduct pre-trip, in-trip, and post-trip inspections; report and address mechanical issues promptly
- Adhere to all company safety policies, traffic control plans, and MTO regulations, including hours-of-service compliance
- Operate safely within active construction zones, maintaining awareness of workers, equipment, and public traffic
Qualifications
- Valid AZ driver’s license in good standing
- Clean driver’s abstract and CVOR record
- Minimum 3+ years of AZ driving experience in Canada (construction or asphalt hauling preferred)
- Experience with dump trucks, end dump, live bottom, or similar equipment considered an asset
- Knowledge of road construction practices and site safety requirements
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, especially in fast-paced paving operations
- Ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, during peak construction season
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently
Assets (Preferred but Not Required)
- Experience working in asphalt paving or road rehabilitation projects
- Familiarity with GPS dispatch systems or electronic logbooks (ELDs)
- Valid safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, Working at Heights)
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
