We are looking for someone with breakfast and baking experience to work at a remote camp in the Yellowknife, NWT area. This is a permanent long term camp.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Entry level, with little or no experience is welcome.
- Must be able to perform breakfast service, lunch and dinner service.
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Government approved Food Safe Certification
- Standard First Aid with AED Level A or C
- WHMIS Certification (site specific)
Duties and Responsibilities (Shall Include, But Not Be Limited To):
- Meet daily with the Chef to discuss preparation and production of all baked items.
- Oversee the daily preparation, production, handling, storage, rotation and serving of all baked items. These will include breakfast pastries (muffins, cinnamon buns etc.) Lunch box pastries (cookies, squares, etc.) And main meal desserts (cakes, puddings, pies, Jell-O, etc.).
- Ensure the proper storage, handling and rotation of all stock involved in the production of baked goods as per HACCP / FOOD SAFE approved methods.
- Oversee, direct and be responsible for all subordinate staff involved in the preparation, production, storage and serving of all baked goods.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the bakeshop area, including storage areas, refrigeration areas and all equipment.
- Ensure that food spoilage and waste are kept to a minimum.
- Maintain personal cleanliness and hygiene throughout shift.
- Any other tasks or duties as assigned by the Chef.
- Attend daily tool box meetings
- Report hazards, near misses, incidences, maintenance issues and stock shortages to Chef
