Position Overview
Under the direction of the Director of Technical Operations, the Facilities Officer will be accountable for planning, executing, and overseeing all shore-side facilities, equipment, and grounds across five sites. Schedules work, manages tasks, and either performs jobs directly or coordinates vendors to ensure results.
This is an exempt, FT position based in Vancouver. M-F 9:00-5:00 pm
Key Responsibilities
▪ Implements and executes maintenance programs across all shore‑side facilities to ensure the reliability, uptime, and long‑term performance of all critical infrastructure.
▪ Manages service providers as the single point of accountability for all vendor and contractor activity, to ensure consistent quality assurance and strong performance oversight.
▪ Forecasts and tracks facility‑related expenditures in coordination with the Technical Director, to maintain cost control and support accurate financial reporting.
▪ Maintains and updates all facility records, permits, and certifications to ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and maritime regulatory requirements.
▪ Performs or coordinates hands on repairs and maintenance tasks, to shift the organization from reactive repairs to predictable, planned preventive maintenance.
▪ Schedules and manages facility improvement and upgrade projects to reduce the project‑coordination burden on Technical Superintendents and ensure timely facility upgrades.
▪ Collaborates with the Vessel Maintenance Team to support shore‑side equipment needs, to allow VMT personnel to focus on high‑value vessel maintenance by ensuring shore‑based systems are fully supported.
▪ Reacts to change productively to undertake other tasks and responsibilities as assigned and look after the company’s best interest. This list of functional duties is not exhaustive.

Qualifications
▪ Certification in Facilities Management, Building Operations, or a related technical field OR Technical training or coursework in mechanical, electrical, or building systems (MEP) is an asset.
▪ Or at least 5+ years of progressive experience in facility, industrial, or building maintenance in lieu of a formal facilities certification.
▪ 2–4 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, industrial maintenance, or shore‑side/marine infrastructure support.
▪ Experience in managing contractors, service providers, and vendors.
▪ Experience supporting or executing preventive maintenance programs, inspections, or compliance activities.
▪ Technical training or coursework in mechanical, electrical, or building systems (MEP) is an asset.
▪ Specific Knowledge in Health, Safety, and Compliance.
▪ Operational Management Tools, Financial and Strategic Acumen
▪ Must be legally allowed to work in Canada

Compensation
▪ Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000 per year
▪ The actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and the position’s location, while ensuring alignment with internal equity and pay fairness standards. The final offer will form part of a competitive total rewards package designed to attract and retain top talent.
