Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant and hospitality experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, managing food preparation and safety, and ensuring smooth restaurant operations to provide an outstanding dining experience for guests.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily food service operations, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards and safety regulations
- Manage POS systems including Micros POS for order processing and cash handling procedures
- Lead, train, and motivate team members to deliver excellent customer service and maintain a positive work environment
- Conduct interviewing and hiring of new staff members; oversee onboarding processes
- Ensure compliance with food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures in accordance with health regulations
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage stock rotation
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure guest satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas in adherence to sanitation standards
- Collaborate with management on restaurant operations, marketing initiatives, and staff scheduling
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in food service or restaurant management roles
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS; cash handling expertise required
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Background in hospitality or hotel industry is a plus; barista or serving experience is beneficial
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in restaurant management or food industry roles preferred
- Knowledge of food handling regulations and health codes
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
