Mechanical Engineer
SCM Engineering is seeking a motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a technically strong and driven professional who enjoys engineering design, project leadership, problem solving, client coordination, and working within a fast-paced engineering environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, analysis, coordination, and execution of mechanical engineering projects across a variety of industrial applications.

Responsibilities
· Prepare and review mechanical engineering designs, calculations, layouts, and technical documentation for industrial projects.
· Lead mechanical system design for HVAC, plumbing, and industrial utility systems (compressed air, hydronic, steam and condensate, and sanitation systems).
· Coordinate projects with clients, contractors, vendors, architects, and other engineering disciplines.
· Conduct site visits, field reviews, inspections, commissioning support, and construction coordination activities.
· Prepare specifications, engineering reports, drawing packages, and technical submissions.
· Participate in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and overall project execution.
· Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
· Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, technologists, and designers.
· Participate in internal quality control and design review processes.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
· Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or eligible for licensing.
· Minimum 4 years of relevant industry experience.
· Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and industrial mechanical systems.
· Strong understanding of Parts 6 and 7 of the Ontario Building Code.
· Familiarity with the National Building Code of Canada, National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings, and National Plumbing Code of Canada is considered an asset but not a requirement.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit is considered an asset but not a requirement.
· Strong communication, organizational, and technical writing skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
· Experience with industrial and food processing facilities is considered an asset.
· Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
· Valid Ontario driver’s license.
Compensation & Benefits
· Annual salary: $90,000 to $120,000, based on experience and qualifications.
