About the Role
The Appliance Service Technician will be responsible for completing service calls, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining commercial and/or residential appliances and laundry equipment. The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working directly with customers.
Main Responsibilities
- Complete appliance service calls in a professional and timely manner
- Diagnose and repair appliance and equipment issues
- Service and maintain washers, dryers, and related laundry equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational problems
- Replace parts, components, motors, belts, switches, sensors, pumps, and controls as required
- Use hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment safely
- Read and understand wiring diagrams, schematics, service manuals, and job notes
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Communicate clearly with customers and explain service work being completed
- Complete work orders, service reports, and paperwork accurately
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and service vehicle
- Follow company procedures, safety standards, and manufacturer guidelines
- Work independently in the field and as part of a team when required
Requirements
- Previous appliance repair, maintenance, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or technical service experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to read wiring diagrams or service manuals is an asset
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Valid driver’s licence preferred
- Ability to lift, carry, move equipment/parts, and perform physical work as required
- Safety-focused attitude
- Willingness to learn and grow with the company
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience repairing washers, dryers, or commercial laundry equipment is a strong asset
- Experience with appliance repair, HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, mechanical maintenance, or equipment service
- Certified Journeyperson would be considered a strong asset
- Trade certification, apprenticeship background, or related technical training would be an asset
- Additional safety certifications such as First Aid, WHMIS, CSTS, Fall Protection, or similar are an asset

Compensation
Pay is between $25 and $30 per hour, depending on experience, licensing, and overall fit for the role.
