We are a meal prep company with a weekly rotating menu, meaning creativity is a must! We pride ourselves on being a test kitchen, where we encourage every team member to contribute ideas for new dishes, sauces, and flavors (no, you don't have to be vegan although its a plus!)
Position: Prep Cook/Cook
Location: 1205 east hastings st
Schedule: Must be available Saturday 11-6pm, Sunday 9-5pm (flexible)
Pay: Starting wage $23.5hr plus tip ($3-$4/hr) we've yet to have tips be under $3 an hour. Raise will be given after probationary period
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients and assembling meals according to company recipes and standards
- Handle food preparation tasks including chopping, slicing, mixing, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and prep areas in compliance with food safety regulations
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality of all meals prepared
- Support the cooking process by executing specific tasks under supervision, ensuring timely meal production
- Assist with packaging meals efficiently for delivery or pickup while maintaining presentation quality
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines during food handling and preparation processes
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and meet daily production goals
This position provides an engaging opportunity for individuals eager to develop culinary skills within the growing plant-based food industry.
Must-Haves:
- Availability on Saturday, Sunday, Monday
- 5+ years in a fast paced kitchen environment
- Proficient in English and have a valid work permit
- Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a positive, problem-solving attitude
- Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability
- Experience converting recipes based on yield
- Ability to think on your feet and adapt to a constantly evolving menu
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is a must
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
