Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dishwasher/Kitchen Assistant to join our team in Huntsville, Ontario. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, supporting food service operations, and ensuring a smooth workflow. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and food service, with a focus on cleanliness and efficiency.
Duties
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping, assembling ingredients, and plating
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas to meet health and safety standards
- Support kitchen staff with food handling and service tasks during busy periods
- Ensure proper storage of dishes and kitchen supplies after cleaning
- Follow all safety protocols related to food handling and sanitation
- Assist in setting up dining areas and clearing tables when required
Skills
- Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures and sanitation standards
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred
- Basic kitchen experience including food preparation and handling
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
- Experience in hotel or food service industries is a plus
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude while managing multiple responsibilities

Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs bags/boxes
- Ability to work on their feet up to 8 hours a day
- Clear criminal background check
- Ability to learn and complete tasks as assigned
- Previous experience assisting in the Back of House is an asset
