Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision and attention to detail, maintaining consistency in quality and presentation
- Handle all aspects of food preparation, including slicing, rolling, and plating sushi items
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled according to food safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and workstations
- Follow recipes and portion controls to ensure menu consistency
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and sanitation procedures to uphold health standards
- Serve dishes promptly while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry, preferably with restaurant experience specializing in Japanese cuisine
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation
- Knowledge of food handling safety procedures and sanitation standards
- Excellent serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Kitchen experience with familiarity in various cooking techniques related to sushi making
- Passion for the food industry and continuous learning about new culinary trends in sushi preparation
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends as needed
