We are currently recruiting contract faculty for the Resources Drilling Technician (Optional co-op) diploma program. In this program you will provide students with in-depth knowledge of drilling methods (auger; rotary; HDD; diamond core) safety considerations, equipment operation, industry standards, career-readiness skills, and environmental considerations.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Delivering courses in the Resources Drilling Technician (Optional co-op) program.

Delivering and supporting the assigned curriculum to meet course learning objectives.

Incorporating a variety of teaching and learning strategies to meet student needs.
-
Assessing and monitoring student progress and achievement.
-
Establishing and sustaining a positive and supportive learning environment.
-
Leveraging educational technologies effectively to enhance learning, manage and publish grades, and facilitate course delivery.
Education and Experience Requirements:
-
Resources Drilling Technician Diploma or equivalent.
-
Train-the-Trainer Certification considered an asset.
-
Minimum of five years of recent hands-on experience in resources drilling operations (e.g., surface and/or underground diamond drilling); experience in diamond core drilling considered an asset.

Demonstrated knowledge of Ontario Common Core training programs and applicable regulations.
-
Experience with drilling techniques, equipment operation, and core sample handling.

Related Safety and Regulatory knowledge and certifications including but not limited to Working at Heights; WHIMS; Standard First Aid/CPR; LOTO; Ontario Surface Miner Common Core; OSHA (industrial sites).

Ontario Well Technician licences (Class 1-5) considered an asset.

Strong commitment to occupational health and safety standards and safe work practices.

Experience training, mentoring, or supervising personnel in industrial, mining, or drilling environments.

Ability to deliver both classroom and hands-on (field/lab) instruction.

Proficiency in assessing student performance and providing constructive feedback.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Computer proficiency and ability to use educational technologies for instruction and evaluation. Prior experience with D2L platform considered an asset.

Valid DZ driver licence considered an asset.
