CAREER OPPORTUNITY:
Second Cook (Seasonal, Full-Time, 18-month Contract) Number of Open Vacancy: One (1)
We are seeking a skilled 2nd Cook to support daily kitchen operations, food preparation, and buffet/banquet service. This role focuses on quality execution, food safety, and efficient service in a fast paced, member focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare menu items according to standardized recipes and chef direction
- Maintain full mise en place and support timely food service
- Assist with buffet, banquet, and food station setup, service, and breakdown
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and Toronto Public Health standards
- Clean and maintain workstations, equipment, and refrigerators
- Receive, store, label, and rotate food and supplies properly
- Communicate inventory needs and kitchen issues to Chef/Sous Chef
- Assist with training junior staff and directing dishwashers as needed
Requirements
- 2–3 years cooking experience in a comparable F&B operation
- Post secondary culinary training required
- High School Diploma required
- Valid Safe Food Handler certification
- Strong English communication skills
- Works well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Physically capable (lifting up to 50 lbs, working in hot environments)
- Available for nights, weekends, and holidays
Vacancy: One (1) Vacancy; seasonal surge.
Compensation: The expected compensation range for this role is $22.00 to $26.00 per hour. Placement within the range will be based on demonstrated skills, relevant experience, and internal equity considerations.
