About the Role
With headquarters and a warehouse in Winnipeg, Star is looking to add a member to the resident sales team that already includes a sales office in Edmonton & Saskatchewan. This on-site position combines inside and outside sales responsibilities, requiring both office-based customer support and regular travel to customer locations. You will leverage your technical expertise and sales skills to identify customer needs, recommend solutions, and build long-term client relationships. Working closely with sales, engineering, and product teams, you will help deliver solutions that support customer success and business growth.
Regular travel is required to support customers and business development activities throughout Southern Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec, including customer site visits, product demonstrations, meetings, and industry events.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage both inside and outside sales activities within the assigned territory.
· Develop new business opportunities while maintaining and growing relationships with existing customers throughout Southern Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec.
· Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, and in person, providing product recommendations, quotations, and technical support.
· Identify customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and technical solutions.
· Deliver product demonstrations, presentations, and technical consultations.
· Prepare quotations, proposals, and other sales documentation.
· Collaborate with engineering and product teams to develop customized solutions.
· Manage the sales pipeline using CRM software and maintain accurate customer records.
· Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
· Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies.
· Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory to visit customers, attend trade shows, partner meetings, and industry events.
· Support customers during implementation by coordinating with technical support and project teams.
· Provide exceptional customer service while building and maintaining long-term client relationships.
Qualifications
· Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Hydraulic Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline is considered an asset.
· 2–5 years of experience in technical sales, solutions consulting, or a related customer-facing technical role.
· Experience in both inside and outside sales is preferred.
· Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, or industrial equipment and systems.
· Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
· Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
· Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or Microsoft Dynamics is considered an asset.
· Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
· Ability and willingness to travel regularly, including occasional overnight travel, throughout Southern Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec.
· Proficiency in English is required; the ability to communicate effectively in French is considered an asset.

Preferred Skills
· Experience in technical sales.
· Knowledge of hydraulic systems, fluid power components, pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, fittings, and related industrial equipment.
· Background or experience in the agriculture industry is considered an asset.
· Experience preparing technical proposals and responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
· Familiarity with project management principles.
· Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.

Pay: $75,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
