Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Architectural Technologist to join our design team. The ideal candidate will assist in developing detailed architectural drawings, schematics, and models for a variety of projects. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with architects and engineers, contributing technical expertise to ensure precise and innovative design solutions. The position requires proficiency in CAD software and drafting techniques, with a focus on supporting construction documentation and project development.
Duties
- Prepare detailed architectural drawings and schematics using AutoCAD.
- Assist in creating construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and standards.
- Contribute to project coordination by reviewing drawings for accuracy and consistency across disciplines.
- Maintain organized digital files of all project documentation in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or certificate in Architectural Technology, Architectural Drafting, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Architectural Technician or in a similar architectural drafting role is preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
- Strong understanding of drafting principles, construction documentation, and residential design.
- Ability to accurately interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and technical information.
- Knowledge of residential construction practices and applicable building codes.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with municipal permit drawings and consultant coordination is considered an asset.
