Program Description: UCMAS (Universal Concept Mental Arithmetic System) is a unique child development program that focuses on mental arithmetic using the ancient Abacus tool. Founded in Malaysia by Dr. Dino Wong, UCMAS has been operating in North America since 2004 and has approximately 70 locations. With over 30,000 students registered and 600 Course Instructors trained, UCMAS is a reputable brand known for its effective teaching methods. All training will be provided to the successful candidates.
Duties: As a Course Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching children the UCMAS program, which includes using the Abacus tool, mental arithmetic calculations, and developing visualization skills. You will guide and motivate students, monitor their progress, and provide feedback.
- Deliver comprehensive UCMAS courses to students, ensuring clarity and engagement in every lesson
- Create a positive and motivating classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and curiosity
- Assess students’ progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their development
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and activities aligned with the UCMAS curriculum standards
- Support students with special educational needs by adapting teaching methods as necessary
- Maintain accurate attendance records, progress reports, and student portfolios
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate student achievements and areas for improvement
Experience
- Previous teaching or instructional experience is highly desirable and passion for working with children
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues
- A passion for education and a commitment to student success are essential qualities for this role
- Strong mathematics and arithmetic skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Patience and ability to adapt teaching methods to individual students based on individual needs
- Attention to detail and ability to creatively follow lesson plans
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other instructors
- Experience with Abacus and/or mental arithmetic is a plus
- UCMAS graduate is preferred but all training will be provided!
