Construction Superintendent
n.Wallace & Company Ltd., located in Surrey, BC, is a leading Construction Manager and General Contractor seeking a Construction Superintendent with 5+ years of experience in commercial, light industrial, and healthcare construction. Our projects typically range from $1 million to $15 million, are diverse, and are generally located throughout the Lower Mainland, with select projects extending to the Interior and Vancouver Island.
The ideal candidate should possess the following professional qualities and skills:
- Carpentry background with progressive experience in foreman and supervisory positions
- Experience in concrete forming, tilt-up, and/or wood framing (would be an asset)
- Healthcare renovation experience (would be an asset)
- Ability to review documents and drawings for accuracy and constructability
- Ability to identify discrepancies in contract scopes of work and disciplines
- Strong planning and project schedule management skills
- Maintain cost control, quality, and schedule on construction sites
- Proficient in construction documentation requirements and processes
- Strong understanding of WCB requirements and safety practices
- Ability to work with our Health and Safety Coordinator to manage and coordinate the safety of our workforce and trades in accordance with our Health and Safety Program
- Adherence to project documents and regulatory agencies
- Computer literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Proficient in detail orientation and problem-solving
- Ability to resolve issues in a non-confrontational, relationship-oriented manner
- Ability to follow what's required in the contract documents and ensure trades are following the same
- Ability to work both as a leader and as part of a team
- Availability to travel out-of-town (an asset)
- Innovative and conceptual thinking
- Client service focus, as we have a high repeat and referral client base
Remuneration will be based on the candidate’s experience. Benefits include life insurance, group health & dental, vehicle allowance, and profit share.
