POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling the Company's services by effectively building relationships and communicating, benefits, and value while preparing professional quotes for prospective and existing customers. This role requires the ability to respond to customer requests, identify business opportunities, and provide solutions that meet customer and Company needs. This position is based out of the downtown Calgary office and requires occasional travel to Grande Prairie to collaborate with Operations and strengthen customer relationships.
The Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining valuable, long-term relationships with new and existing customers while consistently representing PVT in a professional manner. Success in this role requires integrity, initiative, strong communication and presentation skills, and a customer-focused approach.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in sales with broad knowledge of the transportation industry, including oilfield services, equipment rentals, trucking, and logistics. They will work collaboratively with Operations, Dispatch, Finance, and Accounts Receivable to deliver exceptional customer service while contributing to the continued growth and success of the Company.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and grow existing customer accounts while identifying opportunities to expand and strengthen customer relationships.
- Promote the Company's services by communicating product and service features, benefits, and value to prospective and existing customers, while effectively addressing customer questions.
- Respond to customer inquiries and requests in a timely manner by providing quotations, discussing pricing and credit terms, preparing sales orders, and ensuring customer needs are met.
- Develop new business opportunities through networking, referrals, prospecting, and relationship building to generate revenue growth and maximize Company utilization.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with new customers while expanding contacts within existing customer organizations; meeting and exceeding KPI targets for in person customer meetings.
- Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable team to support timely collections while maintaining positive customer relationships.
- Maintain close communication with Operations to ensure all secured jobs are effectively communicated, supported throughout execution, and followed up on after completion to ensure PVT delivers quality service.
- Represent PVT in a professional manner by demonstrating professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment in all customer interactions.
- Maintain current knowledge of the Company's products and services, market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
- Promote and maintain PVT's professional image through active participation in industry associations and networking events.
- Participate in regular sales meetings and contribute to sales planning, strategy, and business development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate customer records and keep management informed through the timely completion of required sales reports and documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Duties and responsibilities may change from time to time to meet operational requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity of the Grande Prairie region and the Western Canadian energy industry is considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of the oilfield services and transportation industry, including fluid hauling, trucking, logistics.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, convert prospects, and close sales while achieving established sales targets.
- Professional demeanor with strong relationship-building and customer service skills.
- Thorough understanding of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and objection-handling abilities.
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Requires travel to other branch locations as well as project sites that require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel toed boots, coveralls, safety glasses, hard hat and hearing mandatory hearing protection.
- Able to occasionally lift items as heavy as 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Sitting or standing as needed, as well as walking primarily on a level surface for periods throughout the day.
- Reaching above shoulder heights or below the waist as well as some lifting as required.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time salaried position. Standard hours of work may vary but will follow a shift schedule of Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. On-call responsibilities will be required, as well as overtime hours as required.
