Job Summary
The Assistant Building Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of the facility, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for all occupants. This role requires strong leadership and management skills, along with a solid understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and facilities management. The Building Manager will coordinate maintenance activities, supervise staff, and manage projects to enhance the building's functionality.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Building Manager with the daily operations of a residential property.
- Respond to resident inquiries and resolve service requests in a professional and timely manner.
- Coordinate maintenance work orders and schedule repairs with contractors and vendors.
- Assist the concierge team with logging and managing resident packages.
- Conduct regular building inspections to identify maintenance, safety, and security concerns.
- Manage move-ins, move-outs, elevator bookings, and amenity reservations.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, invoices, and incident reports.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure work is completed on time and meets quality standards.
- Assist with budgeting by processing invoices, tracking expenses, and maintaining vendor documentation.
- Ensure compliance with building policies, strata bylaws, fire safety regulations, and WorkSafeBC requirements.
- Collaborate with concierge, janitorial, and security teams to maintain a safe, clean, and well-maintained property.
Requirements
- Previous experience in residential or commercial property management.
- Strong customer service and tenant relations skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Perform general building maintenance and minor repairs as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and property management software.
- Knowledge of building operations, maintenance coordination, and contractor management.
- Understanding of strata bylaws, health and safety regulations, and fire safety procedures.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour
