Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Concrete Former to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in snap tie concrete forming and, masonry, and general construction. This role involves working on various projects that require precision, safety awareness, and technical expertise. The Concrete Former will play a vital part in creating durable concrete structures, utilizing a variety of tools and techniques to ensure quality craftsmanship. Candidates with experience in blueprint reading, heavy equipment operation, and renovation projects are highly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Construct and assemble formwork for concrete structures using carpentry skills and hand tools
- Install rebar and reinforcement materials according to schematics and blueprints
- Operate power tools and heavy equipment safely to facilitate concrete pouring and finishing
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate form construction
- Perform concrete finishing tasks including smoothing, leveling, and sealing surfaces
- Conduct restoration work on existing structures as needed, including caulking and repairs
- Assist with the installation of flooring, masonry work, and other related construction activities
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during form setup, pouring, and finishing processes
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
Experience
- Proven experience in concrete forming, masonry, or related construction fields
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, schematics, and blueprint reading is preferred
- Hands-on experience with rebar installation, carpentry, welding, and flooring installation is a plus
- Familiarity with concrete finishing techniques and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively in physically demanding environments
- Prior experience with renovation or restoration projects is advantageous
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites
