Position Summary
The Vision Application Specialist will be responsible for the design, development, integration, testing, and commissioning of machine vision systems used in industrial automation applications. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing innovative vision solutions that meet customer requirements while supporting project execution from concept through installation.
Key Responsibilities
Define machine vision performance requirements for customer applications.
Determine opto-mechanical, electrical, software, and interface requirements for vision systems.
Design and develop turnkey machine vision solutions including:
Cameras
Lighting systems
Optics
Frame grabbers
Processing algorithms
Opto-mechanical fixtures
Material handling components
Develop image processing applications and user interfaces using commercial software libraries.
Integrate, test, and validate vision systems during build, integration, and buyoff phases.
Participate in system assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Conduct in-house and customer acceptance testing.
Ensure systems meet customer specifications and performance requirements.
Commission and install systems at customer facilities.
Provide customer training on machine operation, setup, and maintenance.
Deliver field service and technical support as required.
Collaborate closely with engineering, controls, and automation teams throughout project execution.
Qualifications
Experience with machine vision systems in factory automation and integration environments.
Strong knowledge of image processing algorithms.
Proficiency in C# programming.
Experience with Cognex Vision Tools.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing optical and illumination systems.
Background in automation, robotics, or industrial controls.
Experience commissioning and supporting automated manufacturing systems.
Knowledge of machine vision hardware selection and integration.
