Global Mining Products / GMI Wheels is a Langley, BC-based off-highway / mining wheel manufacturer seeking a Metal Fabricator with CNC plasma experience possessing at least 3 years work experience to work in our fabrication shop producing large steel parts.
The Metal Fabricator programs and operates CNC plasma cutter and roller to produce parts based on technical drawings, fulfilling work orders set by the Production Scheduler and Shop Manager. The Metal Fabricator is capable of adapting their workflow based on changing production needs or timeframes, and assists in the welding shop when necessary.
Starting wage is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Job Duties
- Independent setup and operation of metal fabrication machines.
- Finished part inspection to ensure dimensions and specifications match technical drawings.
- Use of power tools .
- Working effectively within timeframes set by the Production Scheduler and Shop Manager.
- Operating in compliance with our ISO 9001 quality management system.
- Maintaining work area cleanliness and organization.
Qualifications:
- 3 years or more of metal fabrication with plasma and rolling experience.
- Knowledge and application of measuring tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working around large, heavy steel components in a busy shop atmosphere.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good listening skills.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Excellent Punctuality and Attendance.
Nice to Have:
- Experience within a formal Quality Management System (QMS).
- Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts.
