Facilities & Maintenance Lead
Part-time position, 21 hours per week, Flexible within regular business hours, Monday to Friday (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
CHATS is seeking a reliable and hands-on Facilities & Maintenance Lead to support the daily operation, maintenance and safety of our facilities across multiple locations. This role reports to the VP, Finance & Corporate Services

Since 1980, CHATS has been a leader in providing home and community services for seniors and caregivers across York Region and South Simcoe. Each year, we support more than 8,100 older adults and caregivers through a wide range of community-based programs.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day maintenance and minor repairs and renovations (e.g., lighting, painting, basic plumbing, drywall, fixtures, carpentry).
- Ensure facilities are safe, functional, clean, and well maintained.
- Act as the primary on-site contact for facility-related issues.
- Conduct regular site inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Respond to urgent maintenance issues during regular working hours.
- Coordinate and support contractors and service providers on-site.
- Maintain basic maintenance records and inventory of tools and supplies.
- Identify and report health and safety concerns and take corrective action within scope of role.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or property operations
- Ability to independently complete a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks
- Working knowledge of building systems (basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry)
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation
- Experience working in healthcare, community services, or with seniors is an asset
- Occasional after-hours support may be required
