Secwepemc Child and Family Services Agency (SCFSA) is a progressive and culturally focused agency supporting family safety that endeavors to provide outstanding practice to First Nations families residing in the communities of the seven‐member bands; Adams Lake, Bonaparte, Neskonlith, Simpcw, Skeetchestn, Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc, and Whispering Pines/Clinton and who reside in Kamloops.

Job Summary
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of SCFSA facilities through the performance of a variety of janitorial and custodial duties. This role supports a welcoming and professional environment by providing high-quality service to staff, clients, and visitors. The position requires knowledge of effective cleaning methods, safe handling of cleaning equipment and supplies, and adherence to established health and safety standards. The successful candidate is expected to exercise discretion and maintain the confidentiality of agency information at all times.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Highschool Diploma or GED
- One year of experience performing professional cleaning and custodial duties
- A combination of education and experience may be considered
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work effectively with a team
- Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willing to learn
- Recognizes and respects all cultural diversity and understands Indigenous culture
Working Conditions
- Travel between different locations may be required
- Job duties require an employee to bend, reach and stand and walk for extended periods
Conditions of Employment
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Criminal Record Check;
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid BC Driver’s Licence no restrictions

Pay: From $29.16 per hour
