Job Overview
I am a seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join the team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and experience in fixing and maintaining heavy equipment, and trucks. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, a commitment to providing excellent customer service, and willing to work in a fast paced environment safely. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and helping others in the shop.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical issues in heavy equipment and perform necessary repairs.
- Conduct routine maintenance on various types of heavy machinery to prevent breakdowns.
- Perform electrical repairs and troubleshoot electrical systems on heavy equipment.
- Weld components as needed.
- Operate heavy equipment to test functionality after repairs are completed.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair needs and timelines.
Experience
- Attention to detail.
- Efficiency repairing equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate various types of heavy equipment safely.
- Experience in welding and electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Ideal person would have experience in railway, truck shops, or running a service truck.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
