At TruckRight, Compliance Specialists play a critical role in ensuring drivers, owner-operators, and fleet operations remain safe, qualified, and compliant with all applicable provincial, federal, Canadian, and U.S. transportation regulations. We take a consultative and collaborative approach, working closely with leadership teams to support operational success in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional who understands the importance of regulatory compliance, risk management, and legal obligations within the transportation industry. The ideal candidate builds strong relationships, thinks critically, and proactively identifies and resolves compliance concerns.
- Monitor driver files for annual reviews, licence status updates, medical validity, and mandatory training completion
- Manage and maintain Driver Qualification Files in accordance with applicable provincial, federal, FMCSA, DOT, NSC, and company compliance requirements
- Ensure compliance with Hours of Service (HOS), E-Log, and transportation safety regulations in both Canada and the United States
- Review and monitor electronic logs (E-Logs); identify violations, follow up on discrepancies, and ensure corrective actions are completed
- Monitor owner-operator maintenance, inspection, and compliance files to ensure all documentation remains current and audit-ready
- Maintain and track periodic vehicle maintenance schedules in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Assist with internal compliance audits, investigations, corrective action plans, and regulatory reporting
- Maintain monthly fleet compliance reports, driver violation records, and supporting documentation
- Support compliance with employment classification, contractor documentation, onboarding requirements, and applicable labour standards
- Monitor changing transportation legislation and regulatory updates to ensure ongoing organizational compliance
- Assist with preparation for regulatory audits, insurance reviews, and client compliance requirements
- Escalate high-risk compliance issues to leadership in a timely and professional manner
- Support company policies and procedures related to safety, compliance, privacy, and record retention
- Perform additional compliance and administrative duties as required

Strong understanding of transportation compliance requirements, including Hours of Service, Driver Qualification Files, NSC standards, FMCSA/DOT regulations, and fleet maintenance compliance
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and related compliance software systems
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), fleet management software, or E-Log platforms considered an asset
- Ability to interpret regulations, policies, and legal requirements and apply them operationally
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
Experience in the transportation industry required
- Previous compliance, safety, fleet administration, or transportation operations experience considered a strong asset
- Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. transportation regulations preferred
- Human Resources Certification or Designation considered an asset
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field considered an asset
- Relevant provincial/state vocational certification, trade licence, apprenticeship, or professional designation may also be considered
