Position Summary
The Senior Contract Administrator is responsible for the end-to-end formation, administration, and closeout of complex project contracts in accordance with AltaGas Supply Chain policies and procedures. This role supports major capital projects by driving commercial discipline, managing contractual risk, and leading change and claims processes. The position partners closely with Project Management, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and commercial objectives. The position serve as a subject matter expert, drives proactive contract management and process improvement, and provides mentorship to junior team members.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Administer contracts in accordance with AltaGas policies and procedures
Maintain complete contract documentation, including change records, formal correspondence, and closeout documentation, supporting audit readiness.
Ensure contractor compliance with scope and commercial terms
Identify and escalate contractual risks and deviations
Act as primary interface with project stakeholders
Lead initiation, evaluation, and execution of contract changes
Assess contractor cost and schedule impacts
Lead claims strategy, entitlement evaluation, and commercial risk mitigation
Support negotiation and resolution of disputes in collaboration with internal stakeholders
Proactively identify emerging claims risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Validate and process invoices and monitor contract value to identify cost exposure and commercial variances
Tracking back charges and recoveries to ensure accurate financial reconciliation
Provide commercial input into supplier strategy and selection decisions
Serve as a subject matter expert and provide commercial guidance to stakeholders
Identify process and efficiency improvements, enhancing contracting practices and tools
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
Required
Relevant degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
10+ years of contract administration experience
Strong experience in claims, change management, and contract law
Strong stakeholder management skills
