C & E Utility Services is looking for a Shallow Utility Construction Laborer to join our team. Working alongside the owner, you would be responsible for the following:
- Driving company trucks; loading and unloading constriction materials and equipment, hauling trailers in a safe manner
- Keeping a clean, safe work area
- Labour as required
- Participate in safety meetings
- Conducting pre-operation checks on trucks and equipment; carrying out the required maintenance
- Setting pedestals and/or vaults
- Placing pipe and cables
To get these tasks done, you need to be capable of the following:
- Driving larger trucks, such as single-axle (5-ton)
- Hauling trailers and heavy equipment
- Identifying tasks that need to be completed to move the team and project forward
- Willing to learn new skills
We are willing to train the right candidate, but if you already have experience in any of the following, be sure to highlight it on your application:
- Knowing how to run utility locating systems or HDD locating systems
- Experience with Vermeer drills, cable plows, backhoes and mini excavators
- Experience working on mainline, drops and cable projects
- Any formal training such as Standard First Aid, Ground Disturbance, Confined Space or Fall Protection training.
You would work outside in all weather conditions and occasionally in confined spaces or heights. Candidates must have a clean drivers abstract and be able to lift up to 50lbs independently. Weekly overtime will be required.
The yard is located near Chestermere, AB.
