St. Andrew's College invites applications for a one-year, part-time Instrumental Band Leader for the 2026-2027 academic year. Reporting to the Deputy Head of School, this position offers a unique opportunity to support the vibrant Upper School Music program at SAC. This role will begin in late August and conclude in June 2027.
Responsibilities will include:
- To work with our Symphonic Band, consisting of students in Grades 9 and 10
- Conduct band rehearsals (full ensemble, sectionals, and small groups)
- Integrate performance, composition, and theory
- Assist with planning and leading concerts and school events
- Collaborate with the Music Department
Key qualifications:
- Demonstrated technical proficiency in several band instruments
- Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field
- OCT certification or equivalent preferred
- Experience directing ensembles
- Experience teaching instrumental music at the senior school level
- Strong knowledge of music theory, pedagogy, and ensemble techniques
