We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to lead our culinary team at a vibrant restaurant located in Abbotsford, BC. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the kitchen team, including supervising cooks and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards and menu specifications
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring consistency, presentation, and flavor excellence
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and cleanliness
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimize kitchen efficiency
- Develop new menu items in collaboration with management to keep offerings innovative and appealing
- Train and mentor staff on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and customer service standards
- Ensure timely serving of dishes while maintaining quality standards during busy hours
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant cooking, food industry roles, or hospitality management with a focus on culinary excellence
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety protocols
- Demonstrated ability in restaurant management including overseeing daily operations and staff supervision
- Familiarity with food handling regulations and sanitation standards
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment with high-volume service
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
